Community-Driven Legal & Development Advocacy (Non-Profit Organization)
Advocates for Community Alternatives (ACA) is a non-profit organization based in Accra, Ghana and the U.S. that supports West African communities threatened by harmful extractive projects to take control of their own futures. The organization works with communities to design sustainable development plans and helps them achieve those plans through legal advocacy, technical support, and community-driven development initiatives. ACA also builds networks of public interest lawyers and experts to defend community rights, promote environmental justice, and pursue alternatives to extractives-led development across multiple West African countries.
